We rush through our days like Olympic athletes pushing their bodies- and minds and spirits-to the limit. We pack 30 hours into 24 hour schedules, and usually our to-do lists exceed our ability to accomplish everything. Juggling work, family, community, church , and other commitments can often be so frustrating that the simple pleasures and the joy of living get lost in the shuffle.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Taking time for quiet moments with God is more than a pause that refreshes. It can be a lifeline for survival.
Throughout Scripture, God encourages His children to draw near Him, to come and experience His love and grace, to take shelter in His arms, to seek Him, to know Him, to trust in Him. His loving invitation to enter into His presence knows no boundaries of time or space or schedule or place. Believers throughout history have found joy and peace in His presence. Wherever you are, no matter what time of day, you can spend devotional moments with God.
Quiet time spent in prayer and reflection can be the most important part of your day. Whether you are a morning person or a night owl, a mother or an executive, a senior or a teen, you can meet with God and be refreshed by His presence and renewed by His tender love.
A quiet moment with God is the best part of the day.
